Inside the World of the Air Force Image Analysts

It’s known as THE CAVE.

There’s no windows, no overhead light. The only incandescence comes from the power of the computer monitors, checkering the darkness with bright rectangles of light.

The cave is where Air Force imagery analysts work twelve hours a day, six days a week. It sounds a little dreary, but through the darkness shines the video they watch, in real time, all over the world.

And for these watchful eyes, their capability is about to get a whole lot better, thanks to the Air Force Research Lab.
